It's not trouble, it's what I do! I'm a biology nerd, what do you expect? ^^ Though I'm mostly into plants, so I can't ID all fungi, lichen or mosses. But hopefully in the future I'll take my time to learn more about them, but right now, vascular plants are my thing! XD
btw, this one was actually easy to id, as there really isn't anything like it around here.
Almost all photos I have in my gallery are of wild/native specimens that I've found myself.
Ah, that explains a lot. i like it when the names are with the flowers, especially the latin ones, because then we all know what we are talking about. I was surprised by the amount of wild orchids you have in your collection. I like those a lot better than the tropical ones ( think they are a bit over the top )
well, orchids are one of my biggest nerdings. The others would be parasitic plants, and maybe dandelions (taraxacum, there are so many and once you've started, you see a whole new world.) But really, I love them all.
I wouldn't say tropical orchids are over the top, but the hybrids certainly are!
phalaenopsis is a highly overated genus, at least when it comes to hybrids. There are some wonderful species though! The common rule is, people who have been around flowers and plants usually start to like the more inconspicuous flowers, those you might not see the first time and etc. I'm fascinated by pollination mechanisms when it comes to orchids, so any man-made hybrid usaully go unnoticed by me. XD though, natural hubrids are interesting!
I like it that you have taken the trouble to look up the Latin name

It would gladden me if you took a closer look at my gallery!
